Life Drawing, Sculptor, Graphic Designer
horror, realism, abstraction, candid
I draw to record and recall moments, to show interaction, normalcy, and abstraction — an interior sketch of a place to remember what you ate, and who you were with; a sketch of an object of no particular importance, but the memory of who it belonged to. Sometimes my work explores unnatural forms, unrealistic dimensions, proportions, and perspectives. Other times it can be filled with energy and abstraction. Here, small details and scenarios are mashed together, encouraging the viewer to take time to inspect, sink into viewing, and slow down. Creating can be therapeutic and meditative, able to transfer expression and memories onto something tangible - this is a large reason why I love it.
We have little time to do what we dream of, and to spread the message of what we truly mean. In this show titled living:room there are many great artists pouring their hearts into something they believe in, something that is their truth, and something that is an expression of experience. 900 some days ago I didn’t think I’d have loved this program as much as I have - or even at all... 900 some days ago I didn’t think I’d be missing these people as much as I am feeling now. living:room is about duality, it is about nostalgia, and it is about the spaces we inhabit - and what we do to make them home.
